Education Outside the Classroom
With the Orton Bradley Park - Outdoor Education Centre Specialists, we have developed a first for Canterbury students. We have developed a special outdoor education programme for 5 through to 10 year olds. Students will rotate through a range of activities such as a low ropes course, orienteering and team-building activities. The activities are varied in technical difficulty and age appropriate. We aim to develop student self-confidence, encourage team-work and teach responsibility.
Students need to learn in a variety of contexts in order to gain the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values required to enjoy a healthy lifestyle; take responsibility for their own safety; form positive and respectful relationships with their peers, their teachers, and the environment; and participate in the creation of safer communities. We value this statement and aim to give our students as many opportunities as possible. Information on school activities and trips is available from the front office or come in and have a chat.
